Delightful, funny and punny; the reversals of initial consonants regularly yields some interesting sounding new-ish words.

A posthumous new volume of poetry from Silverstein, this one featuring a menagerie of spoonerisms.

I checked out this book because my kids really love being read Shel Silverstein books (e.g. the Missing Piece). This one may be better for older kids though, as when I went to read it to my younger sons I found the use of excess silliness and silly words etc too much, and figured it wasn't worth the effort to try and stave off poor habits from the boys starting to speak in "baby talk" etc.. better they practice hearing and learning to articulate properly I figured.

Maybe when they are older we will revisit. Oldest is 7 right now.

Our kids just loved the letter reversal word play and have been playing with letter reversal ever since. They especially loved the notes Runny Babbit's mother posted in his room - we read the notes and they took turns figuring out what they meant.

"Runny Babbit lives in a town where you switch the first letters backwards because of this, it was hard to understand but it was still good." Review submitted by Emma Ihly for the Minecraft Book Review Raffle.

This book was quite funny, but cute at the same time.

I liked this book because it is really funny and all of the letters are mixed up
