It pains me that I don't love this book. I love Artemis Entreri. My favorite fantasy character of all time or close anyway. This book just didn't reel me in like the others. I struggled to finish it. I feel Salvatore screwed with the character of Entreri AND the character of Jarlaxle too much for my liking. I did enjoy the book. I would still read more Salvatore. I just feel he dropped the ball with this one. Overall a good fantasy book with good action and definitely a fun read for D&D players. Just not nearly as good as other Salvatore Forgotten Realms stuff.

Drivel. Fan's of the early Drizzt books, like myself, should spare themselves the ennui and frustration of reading this hastily plotted potboiler.
