A new collection of dazzling short fiction.

One of the world's most celebrated authors, Margaret Atwood has penned a collection of smart and entertaining fictional essays, in the genre of her popular books Good Bones and Murder in the Dark , punctuated with wonderful illustrations by the author. Chilling and witty, prescient and personal, delectable and tart, these highly imaginative, vintage Atwoodian essays speak on a broad range of subjects, reflecting the times we live in with deadly accuracy and knife-edge precision.

This was just a middling collection for me. The stories didn't seem to have the same bite as others I've read. I was quite partial to TAKE CHARGE for the plethora of made up words and BRING BACK MOM for it's nostalgic but feminist views.

This collection of mini-short stories did not appeal to me at all. I managed to read about a third of the collection then I gave up! They were disappointing. They weren't up to Margaret Atwood's usual quality!
