The Dance Of Intimacy is more of a work-book than a self-help book. If you're really looking to get pro-active in your relationships, you need to read this! I have flown through other self-help books in less than two days, but this one took me almost two weeks, because there is so much to process, reflect, and put into action. I suggest keeping a journal close while you read, in order to jot down the questions, answers, and ideas that the book will evoke.

A wonderful book on dealing with stuck relationships, as well as dealing with the past that may be affecting our choices and keeping us in our current situation. It is about far more than the title suggests. The book gets more helpful with later chapters, I personally found much insight in chapter five.

This is a good book that may help almost anyone deal with issues involving marital and parental relationships. This book teaches one that in most relationships (especially between spouses), the obvious "problems" (fighting, distancing, etc.) are not supposed to be the issues to be dealt with. One has to deal with the underlying issues that cause "the problems", such as childhood trauma, in order to solve the superficial "problems" in the relationship. The author illustrates very good examples that anyone can relate to, and explains the complicated, underlying problems in a simple manner. The book is well written.
