thelma and louise is not just a chick flick for girls
its also great for guys too who want a fun action comedy
it may have its sad parts here and there for the chick flick audience
but the male viewers tend to love this film too
cause of the comedy dynamic between surandon and davis
it is a wonderful movie

You won't ever see anything like this again. One-of-a-kind masterpiece. Choice of casting could not have been better.

when I saw this at its release into theatres, I was a 'liberal.' I walked out with streaming tears, I thought it should have had a happy ending. I completely identified with these women characters, as victims. today, I see it as a Revenge Fantasy of women, against men..As fiction-film, well-done! As healthy entertainment, it fails. This is a propaganda film, for the feminist movement, that has gone seriously screwey. Don't think it's not going to affect you, eventually. Soon, there will be no escape, for anyone. Mark my words: this is how these things go. I'm giving you fair warning.// Prescient words, indeed. Susan Sarandon's character seems to develop a blood-lust as well as a penchant for firing off her gun in the direction of evil male characters.

All the positive accounts by patrons of KCLS I would heartily second. I have watched this movie again after many years since it came out. It still is a great escape on an unbelieviable adventure by two women. It certainly ranks up in the top all time classic movies!

What a classic! You've gotta see this one. Probably one of the best movies of the 90s!

Saw it decades ago, when first released. Forgot everything but the last stunning scene--and also forgot how good it was, and, even today, how topical and timely.

Great script.
Great performances by everyone, especially the three leads, Davis, Sarandon and Keitel.

Exceptional movie. If you saw it, as I did, long ago, or, if you've never even heard of it, do yourself a favour...and borrow this one.

For starters - There were 2 things (yes, only 2) that I didn't like about Thelma & Louise.

(1) Its finale (which sucked). And, yes - (2) Brad Pitt (who sucked, as well).

But, with that all said, I must honestly admit that whenever it comes to the portrayal of a truly deceitful piece of slime (like J.D.), Brad Pitt is, by far, a true champion of champions.

(*Spoiler Ahead!*)

Anyways - When it came to suspense and comedy, I actually found that these 2 elements mixed surprisingly well in this film about 2 gal-pals (living troubled, caged lives) whose 2-day getaway to a mountain retreat ends up escalating into a literal non-stop crime-spree (beginning with the committing of a murder). And, at this point Thelma and Louise were, of course, forced to hightail it for their lives as the law closed in on them, but fast.

You know, I really must hand it to director Ridley Scott on this one. He certainly hit the jackpot with this "Slick-Chick-Buddy-Flick". Although it did become a tad predictable as the story progressed. I mean, when you really think about it, Thelma & Louise rarely ventured too far off the track of the all-too-familiar "road-movie" trail.

But, with that all said and done - Thelma & Louise was, indeed, an exhilarating, little "joy-ride-of-a-movie", even though it could have, but did not (contrary to what others might think) go out in a blaze of glory.

Watching this movie in 2014 for the first time, this was a huge refresher. No ostentatious Hollywood special effects and all the actors are in their pre-fame stages: it's great! I was shocked by the ending, but enjoyed the movie a lot. No vampires, no teenage love nor doomsday agendas here. Thank goodness!

“Thelma and Louise” is the heart-wrenching tale of two best friends that wouldn’t give up on one another. The film begins by introducing the two main characters, Thelma, a mousy housewife, and Louise, a badass waitress. Louise invites Thelma to go on a road trip with her to a friend’s cabin, and she agrees. However, on their way there, the two friends stop at a bar, and find themselves in a rather sticky situation.
The author of this review cried during “Thelma and Louise”. It’s a moving, beautiful story about two friends that just wanted to have some fun, but instead end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thelma and Louise are wonderful characters, and are both very unique. The only complaint is Thelma is rather whiny, but this is understandable, given the events of the movie. “Thelma and Louise” contains no slow moments, and is incredibly interesting the entire way through. The setting of the movie was well chosen, and adds visual interest and does a lovely job of setting the mood.
“Thelma and Louise” is a movie suitable for ages fourteen and up, as it contains mild swearing and brief sexuality. “Thelma and Louise” would be a good movie to watch with your friends, or even by yourself. It is a tear jerker, so have some tissues on hand, as you will need them! Despite this, the author of this review highly recommends this film, as it is wonderfully entertaining, and can be considered a classic.

"Thelma and Louise" is so much more than a road-trip movie, or a girls-in-trouble bonding flick. As director Ridley Scott himself once said, the landscape itself is one of the main protagonists. Add Hans Zimmer's angst-driven soundtrack, and this film becomes one of my top ten movies of all time. (And my husband agrees.)
