I really enjoyed this book. Yes, it's a bit dated and it's not a western- the story takes place around 50 years ago, when the newspaper business was still very alive and competitive.

Nevertheless, it's a hard-to-put-down complex mystery that involves government corruption, politics, the newspaper business, and of course, a love interest (once you get past the first few pages). I also enjoyed seeing the main character's hard-boiled superficial character evolving and finding his heart once again.

4 1/2 stars because for me, 5 stars are reserved for truly special books.
