This book appealed to a 3-year-old who is just beginning to grasp the basic concepts of Hallowe'en. It deals with seasonal changes in nature as well as the topic of Jack-O-Lanterns. The author understands juvenile readers well and gives appropriate treatment to both subjects in a lyrical way.
