Maybe I'm biased because I love legos and was constantly making stuff when I was a kid, but I loved this movie when it came out. By far one of the more original concepts, and because it's digital instead of stop-motion, they can do so much more. More, the plot behind the legos is heartfelt and gripping. I kind of wonder how big their house is because, good lord, their basement is huge.
I like the lego movie it's so fun and funny! My favorite character is green ninja. And my favorite part when lord business's robots destroy Batman and Wonder Woman's vehicles!
I just thought this movie was ok/decent. I'm sure the kids love this one.
Is it a brand cash-grab? Yes, it is! Does that stop it from being awesome? No, it does not!
This movie is so enjoyable - following the basic Lego man Emmet around as he discovers he's the "special" is immensely enjoyable. The writing of the characters in this story is really well done - you easily fall in love with them AND they are relatable.
"Everything is AWESOME" about this movie, including the music! Chris Pratt and Will Arnett bring life to the characters of "Emmet" and "Batman." They were my absolute favorites! This is an enjoyable film for all ages.
I think I'm still a little shocked that this movie is as good as it is.
green_cat_3454 said it just right. Cheesy and stupid almost throughout the entire movie. Not something I would watch again or recommend. Even though it can be funny at some parts, the overall thing is not worth your time. I think it's stupid to even make a movie about LEGO.
While (at least they say on the director's commentary) not intended to be an anti-Marxist film, it has all the earmarks of one. This one is all about how a rockstar president controls the voting, writes all history and keeps his citizens under tight surveillance and controls them with a Fascist police regime. It also has philosophical messages that trasnscend a mere kid's movie, such as the concept in the beginning of the film of Plato's Cave reminiscent of the Matrix. That and many more positive messages make this a hands down 5 star movie that even one of my heroes Glenn Beck likes.
The adorable Chris Pratt is voicing the sweet hero in this movie. It was delightful family fun.
My second favorite kids movie just behind the Lego batman movie and i feel that's just because i have seen this so many times.
Excellent movie! The whole thing is a comedic masterpiece! I especially loved the part where Benny makes his SPACESHIP! All in all, I give it ten out of five stars ( No, I'm not making a mistake with my fractions). SPACESHIP!
The Lego Movie is the first movie the series. There is also a part 2. This movie was wonderful! It is based around Emmet , an ordinary LEGO figurine who always follows the rules, is mistakenly identified as the Special -- an extraordinary being and the key to saving the world. He finds himself drafted into a fellowship of strangers who are on a mission to stop an evil tyrant's plans to conquer the world. Unfortunately for Emmet, he is hopelessly and hilariously unprepared for such a task, but he'll give it his all nonetheless. I would recommend this movie to people of all ages because it is a family friendly movie. Overall, this movie was great and if you have young ones they will surely love it! 5/5. @TheBookWorm of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
I watched this movie a while back with my little cousins, they loved the movie and so did I. This movie is perfect for little kids but it may be a little boring for older audiences. What I really loved about this movie was the lessons it teaches the kids. For example, to never give up. My cousins really enjoyed the songs in the movie and always sang along. We got to see how the characters handled the problems which is amazing for little kids. I totally recommend this movie to kids aged 5-12. I give this movie a 4.3 out of 5 stars.

One word. Wow. This movie was extremely nostalgic for probably just about everyone who’s not a young kid anymore. Lego was probably something virtually every child has played with. This movie elicited memories of my creative Lego endeavors, whether they were buildings or whatever else I managed to come up with. As for the movie itself, I enjoyed the story and it was not overly complicated. The movie's simplicity can be likened to the simplicity of the real product. It is about an average Lego worker named Emmet who is caught up in a quest to save the world. 5/5

This movie is a really good movie to watch with the family! First off I loved the way they animated the lego pieces and characters to bring them to life it was absolutely amazing. When they are animating the film they pay close attention to details like the expression on the characters face and everything which really adds to the film. Secondly, the storyline is really good and I think all ages can enjoy the movie. The script is well written as well, there is no swearing, some lines are funny, and it makes it easy to follow the movie. So if you are looking for an amazing movie for a family movie night this is the perfect movie! 4.5/5. @Bookreader14 The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
Okaaay . . . We all get the fact (read: have it pounded into our heads) that everything is supposedly awesome (even when your side is hopelessly losing and your leader is dead and coming back as a ghost. I mean, if that's not ridiculous optimism, I don't know what is.) Beyond that, what exactly is the point of the movie?! Sure, friendship is good, but that is the theme of EVERY SINGLE KIDS MOVIE!!!! What dad would build with LEGOS and not let his kids play with them? Anyone want to admit they do that? All right to watch once, but no more than that. I hate to bash a kids movie so much, but this one felt like absolute fluff to me.
Anyone with an unimaginative, impatient and authoritarian parent will relate to the theme. Disapproval of Disorder.
The First Order (Star Wars) blasted Republic planets for the same fault: "acquiescing to disorder".
Smart movie but no joke, I nearly got a seizure from the exploding bricks.
