I was a bit disappointed with this film. Some of the scenes were not lighted well. I realize that he was in a third world country in some instances but it really hurt the shots. This film had so much potential. Some of the shots were too…

Looking forward to seeing this documentary again for free from my wonderful public library! (My sister-in-law recommended after she watched it on Net$$$ix.)

Beautifully photographed, with no script, and virtually no speech other than a few words from the mothers and babbling by the babies, this documentary follows 4 different babies--2 girls, 2 boys--from birth through their first year of life…

This documentary is much more than "just a cute baby video," as it follows 4 different children from 4 different parts of the world. You get to see how different everyone's cultures are in raising their children, and how babies are able to…

This is NOT suitable for all ages. Whoever is saying that probably feels bad they they let their kid watch this INCREDIBLY graphic movie. This movie is more graphic than most rated R movies and that is the truth. It shows EVERYTHING in…

I watched this with my Kindergarten aged daughter. She does not tend to enjoy nonfiction or documentaries but was hooked by the cute babies. I believe that by the end of the doc she learned that people have different ways of doing things…

To say that "Babies", a documentary about (what else?) babies, could have been a whole lot better would truly be an understatement like you wouldn't believe. Covering the very first year in the development of 4 babies born and living…

(*Most often-repeated baby-quotes*) - "Goo-goo! Ga-ga!" and "Gurgle-gurgle-gurgle!" Seriously, folks - When it comes to babies - Whether you call them rugrats, ankle-biters, sprogs, or sweetie-pies - You can be certain of one thing that…

This is a lovely film. So interesting to see the families from the 4 different countries and how they respond to the babies. I loved seeing the Mongolian and Namibian families which are so different from how we raise children in North…

I watched it and it surprisingly held my attention through to the end. Not for those looking for action or thrillers, but if you adore babies and curious about how they develop around the world you'll enjoy it.

My daughter and I watched this over and over again when she was 5 and 6. She loved to see the babies in different cultures.

I liked this film and the concept of the universality of kids' development even though not all of them have the benefit of classes or the latest in fancy toys / products. i would have liked it to be even more universal (maybe add a south…

it's a nice film, going to borrow it again. We watched it with our baby when he was 3 months - he liked it. It will be interesting to see what his reaction is going to be when he is 1 year old.

Definitely not for everyone (as the other comments here show), but I personally found this movie fascinating. I'm the mum of a toddler, very interested in other cultures and the 'bigger picture', and generally get a kick out of kids.…

An un-narrated voyeuristic look at --- what else? -- babies. It just shows four different babies, each from different parts of the world. The Mongolian and African babies experience childhood in what is a poorly developed part of the…

I loved this film. It was a learning experience to see how other children are raised in completely different cultures. I do not agree with the notice to beware of sexual content. There are pictures of women going about their lives where…

After all the rave reviews, I was really looking forward to this film. Sadly, I didn't even finish watching it, didn't live up to the hype and it was actually fairly boring.
