Really enjoyed this version. It went in chronological order, great acting and even the most emotional of all the other versions. See this version or the 1945 version.

One of my all time favorite movies! It is pretty true to the book and has a fantastic cast.

This movie is well done; better, I think, than the 2019 movie. However, these two hours are only just enough to whet your appetite for the books! If you haven't yet, please read the book! It goes into so much more detail and contains many…

The condition of the DVD is pretty bad, but, what I could watch of the movie, I liked.

More languid and less tension than the book. Shot hereabouts: you can spot some locations if you look carefully. (Berlin work would not be done in a hoop.)

I liked that they made their attitudes a bit more modern as compared to the novel.

The cast does a pretty good job of restraint considering the fluffy, melodramatic sentimentality of the plot. Gabriel Byrne's miscasting as Friedrich Bhaer spoils the ending.
